01 — SERVICE & PROCESS

Service & Process

What's included, what we use, and what to expect on the day.

What's included in a Trip's Windows cleaning?

A standard residential window cleaning includes:

  • Interior glass — cleaned and dried streak-free
  • Exterior glass — same treatment from outside
  • Frames — wiped clean of dust and cobwebs
  • Sills — detailed inside and out
  • Tracks — vacuumed of debris
  • Screens — cleaned for any screen that's easily removable

We use professional-grade squeegees, microfiber cloths, and pH-balanced cleaning solutions safe for tinted glass and surrounding surfaces.

Do you clean both interior and exterior windows?

Yes. We clean both interior and exterior glass on every standard service. You can also book exterior-only if you prefer — common for second-story homes or after a storm.

Do you clean window screens, tracks, and sills?

Yes. Screen cleaning, sill detailing, and track vacuuming are all part of the standard service for removable screens. For damaged or warped screens, we also offer on-site screen repair and replacement.

What products do you use? Are they safe for pets and kids?

We use professional pH-balanced cleaning solutions that are non-toxic and safe around pets, children, and plants. For most jobs we use a simple soap-and-water solution with deionized water for streak-free results.

We avoid ammonia-based cleaners that can damage tinted glass or window seals over time.

How long does a typical window cleaning take?

A standard 2,000 sq ft single-story home with about 20 windows typically takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours. A larger 2-story estate with 40+ windows can take 4 to 6 hours. Commercial storefronts are usually 30 minutes to 1 hour. Your written estimate will include a time window so you can plan your day.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

You don't have to be. Many of our customers leave a key, gate code, or arrange access through a property manager. We're licensed and insured, and our team is uniformed and background-checked. If you'd prefer to be home, that's perfectly fine too.

What kind of access do you need?

For exterior cleaning we need clear access to all sides of the home — including any pathways behind landscaping, side gates, or pool areas. For interior, we'll need entry to each room with windows. We bring all necessary ladders, water hoses, and equipment; you don't need to provide anything.

02 — BOOKING & AREAS

Booking & Areas

Where we work, how to schedule, and what to expect on the calendar.

What areas do you serve?

Trip's Windows serves the following Los Angeles communities and neighborhoods:

  • Venice (our home base)
  • Santa Monica
  • West Los Angeles
  • Brentwood
  • Pacific Palisades
  • Beverly Hills
  • Culver City
  • Manhattan Beach

We also service select Orange County cities. If you're not sure whether we cover your address, just call (310) 363-0781 — most of the Westside and South Bay is within our standard service area.

How quickly can you come out for a cleaning?

For most residential jobs we can typically schedule within 3 to 7 business days. Same-week and next-day service is often available — particularly for smaller jobs and recurring customers. Commercial accounts can be set up on a fixed weekly or monthly schedule.

Can I book online or do I need to call?

You can request a free estimate through our online quote form and we'll respond same-day. To schedule the actual appointment, we'll typically follow up by phone or text to confirm timing. If you'd rather skip the form, just call or text (310) 363-0781.

Do you work weekends?

Yes, we offer Saturday appointments. We're closed Sundays. Our standard hours are Monday–Saturday, 8:00am–6:00pm.

What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule whenever possible, but we understand life happens. Just call or text us as soon as you know — we'll work with you to find a new time that works.

03 — SPECIALTY SERVICES

Specialty Services

Beyond standard window cleaning — multi-story, post-construction, hard water, skylights, and more.

Do you clean multi-story homes and high-rise buildings?

Yes. We routinely service two- and three-story residential homes using extension ladders, water-fed pole systems, and proper safety equipment. For taller commercial buildings (4+ stories), we partner with specialized rope-access teams when needed.

Can you clean post-construction or post-renovation windows?

Yes — post-construction window cleaning is a specialty of ours. New construction and renovation work often leaves stickers, paint overspray, plaster dust, and adhesive residue on glass. We use razor scrapers (carefully, on un-tempered glass), specialty solvents, and detail-cleaning techniques to bring windows back to factory clarity.

Can you remove hard water stains from windows?

In many cases, yes. Hard water stains caused by sprinkler over-spray, ocean salt, or mineral deposits can usually be removed with specialty acidic cleaners and polishing compounds.

Severe etching that has penetrated the glass is sometimes irreversible — we'll evaluate during the estimate and tell you honestly what's possible.

What about skylights and hard-to-reach glass?

Yes — skylights, atriums, transom windows, and other awkward glass are part of our standard service. We use water-fed extension poles and specialty equipment for hard-to-reach panes.

Do you also offer pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and screen repair?

Yes. In addition to window cleaning we offer:

  • Pressure washing — driveways, patios, siding, walkways
  • Gutter cleaning — full debris removal and flow check
  • Screen repair — re-mesh and re-fit on-site

Many customers bundle services to save on a single appointment.

04 — FREQUENCY & MAINTENANCE

Frequency & Maintenance

How often you should schedule, and how the LA climate affects everything.

How often should I have my windows cleaned in Los Angeles?

Most Los Angeles homeowners benefit from twice-a-year cleaning — typically once in spring (after winter rain and pollen) and once in fall (before holiday entertaining).

Homes near the coast — Venice, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Manhattan Beach — often need quarterly service because ocean salt spray builds up faster on glass.

How does the LA climate affect cleaning frequency?

Los Angeles has minimal rain, heavy seasonal pollen (especially in spring), constant fine dust, and ocean salt within several miles of the coast.

  • Inland homes can usually go 6 months between cleanings.
  • Coastal homes within 1 mile of the ocean often need 3-month intervals to maintain crystal clarity.
Will rain ruin a fresh window cleaning?

Generally no. Rain itself is purified water and will not leave streaks on properly cleaned glass. The marks people see after rain are usually from existing dust on the glass mixing with raindrops, or from runoff carrying dirt from rooflines.

After a Trip's cleaning, mild rain typically leaves clean glass intact. Heavy rain or wind-driven storms can leave some spotting that's easily addressed.

What's the best time of year to schedule window cleaning?

Spring (April–May) and fall (September–October) are the most popular windows because they bracket the dustiest and rainiest periods. Coastal customers often add a third cleaning in mid-summer.

That said, we work year-round and any time of year is a good time to schedule — winter is actually a great option to refresh windows before holiday entertaining.

Why do my windows look worse near the ocean?

Marine air carries microscopic salt particles that settle on glass within hours. Combined with morning marine layer (fog), salt creates a cloudy haze that's much more visible than ordinary dust. This is why Venice, Santa Monica, and Manhattan Beach homes typically need 3-month intervals while inland Brentwood or Beverly Hills can stretch to 6 months.
