Get Your Home Summer-Ready: Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing Tips

Photo coming soon

There's a moment every spring in Southern California when the marine layer starts burning off a little earlier, the jasmine kicks in, and you suddenly notice just how dusty your windows have gotten. That's the signal — summer is on its way, and your home's exterior could probably use some love.

We see it every year. After a winter of rain, wind, and pollen, homes across LA come out of it looking a little tired. The good news? A few targeted services can completely transform your curb appeal before barbecue season hits. Here's where to start.

Start with the windows

This one's obvious — we're window cleaners, after all — but there's a reason we mention it first. Clean windows don't just look better from the street. They let more natural light into your home, which makes every room feel bigger, brighter, and more inviting. It's the single biggest visual upgrade you can make for the cost.

In coastal areas like Venice, Santa Monica, and Manhattan Beach, winter leaves a film of salt spray and mineral deposits on the glass. Regular glass cleaner won't cut through that buildup. A professional clean with purified water and proper tools gets the glass back to truly transparent — the kind of clean you can feel when you walk into a room.

Our recommendation: clean your windows at least twice a year. Once in spring to shake off winter, and once in fall before the holidays. If you're near the coast, every quarter is even better.

Pressure wash the hardscape

Driveways, walkways, patios, and pool decks take a beating over the winter months. Between rain runoff, fallen leaves, and general foot traffic, concrete and pavers develop a layer of grime that a garden hose just can't handle.

Pressure washing strips all of that away and brings your hardscape back to its original color. It's genuinely surprising how much of a difference it makes — most people forget what their driveway actually looked like when it was new. We've had customers ask if we re-stained their concrete. Nope — just cleaned it.

A few things to keep in mind: not all surfaces should be pressure washed at the same PSI. Wood decks, painted surfaces, and certain types of stone need a softer touch. That's where having a pro crew matters — we adjust the pressure and technique for each surface so nothing gets damaged.

Don't forget the gutters

Gutters are the thing nobody thinks about until they're overflowing. After winter rains, they're usually packed with leaves, twigs, and sediment. Clogged gutters can lead to water pooling around your foundation, staining on your exterior walls, and even pest issues.

Getting them cleaned out before summer means you're ready for whatever unexpected rain comes through (it happens, even in July) and you're not breeding mosquitoes in standing water. It's a quick job that prevents expensive problems down the road.

Check your screens

Summer means open windows, and open windows mean you need screens that actually work. Take a walk around your house and check for tears, holes, or screens that have popped out of their frames. A small rip might not seem like a big deal — until you're dealing with flies in the kitchen at dinner.

We do screen repair and re-screening as part of our service lineup. If you're booking a window cleaning, it's easy to have us check and fix any screens while we're already there.

The summer-ready checklist

Here's the short version — a quick punch list you can work through or hand off to a crew like ours:

  • Windows cleaned — interior and exterior, including hard-to-reach upper floors
  • Driveway and walkways pressure washed — restore original color, remove stains
  • Patio and pool deck cleaned — safe for bare feet and ready for entertaining
  • Gutters cleared — no debris, no clogs, flowing freely
  • Screens inspected and repaired — no tears, snug in their frames
  • Exterior walls spot-washed — remove cobwebs, dirt, and water stains

It sounds like a lot, but most of this can be knocked out in a single visit. We do full-property refreshes all the time — windows, pressure washing, gutters, and screens in one day. One crew, one appointment, and your home is ready for summer.
